Invasion (part 6) Invasion Continued from ProsperityThe next day came at a rather quick pace. The Great One awoke from sleep mode and wheeled himself in front of the window. It was another bright day outside. He let a bit of a tired sigh out of his speakers and stood there a bit. There was not a cloud in the sky and he did not think that he had ever seen the sun so bright like this. It seemed almost unnatural. He turned his head a bit to see if Z-29 had gotten out of sleep mode yet. I was not uncommon for the smaller units to sleep long hours during the morning. The Great One checked his internal clock. 10:56 AM it was. Usually Z-29 was up at this time, but it must have been one of those days that he was feeling incredibly tired, even though the Great One put him to sleep mode at about 8:30. The Great One never really liked to leave the smaller unit alone, as Z-29 was a very curious R.O.B. He would usually wander off on his own at times, getting lost in some of the most unusual places. There w
Prosperity (part 5) Prosperity Continued from Grief2 Years Later"Great One…even I find it hard to believe that such a thing could happen." A unit by the name of C-12 was rolling right next to the Great One as they wheeled themselves through the halls of the one factory. "I never knew a part shortage could be possible…It's our fault for not working..I'm sorr-""There's no need to be sorry" the Great One cut off the unit form speaking. "It was a great loss..and it deserved to be mourned over…" The Great One raised his arm. "I know you guys are incredibly fast workers, you'll have it fixed…I trust you guys…""But Great One…digging in those new oil pits we discovered is dangerous, we've already had units come into the infirmary pretty mangled up…and we need to put new R.O.Bs out every day. We need a solution and fast! If we run out of parts, our population could be at risk!" C-12 sounded nervous."It won't happen soon…but I will try to come up
Grief (part 4) Grief continued from TransitionThe units stood there. All of them now focusing on the corpse of the once Great One. A-98, who was now the Great One, approached the corpse. He put his arm onto the chest, he was just making sure the once Great One had shut down completely. He could not feel the gears inside turning. He moved his arm toward the core. He could not feel it radiating the energy that it did. It was now official."He's on the other side now…." The new Great One tilted his head down. The battery acid trickled from his eyes, some of it falling onto the original Great One.The other units with him looked down in sorrow. This emotion was rather rare for the robots to feel, as nothing tragic really ever happened to them. The only time they really let battery acid leak from their eyes and feel this emotion was at the time a unit shut down for good. It would happen every so often, as even though they were machines, they could not escape one day breaking down and "Dyi
Transition (part 3)Transition Continued from ActivationThe R.O.Bs fell into silence. The Great One was leaning over a bit. The lifeless unit was not responding. L-67 started to shiver. "What if the unit didn't work, did he do something wrong?" all sorts of worry created calculations filled his hard drive. The other two units that built the R.O.B were shivering. They feared that their work had gone to waste. The unit was unresponsive. What puzzled most of the R.O.Bs watching was that the Great One was not worried. He looked rather calm actually. "A bit shy now aren't we?" The Great One let out a soft beep and then put his colorless arm atop the lifeless unit's head. "Now, now, no need to be shy, why not open your eyes a bit?" The R.O.Bs started to look at each other. W-23 knew that something was going wrong. No one dared to question the Great One in person. It was written in their programs, one of the first things programmed into them is their undying loyalty and trust toward the Great One. The G
Activation (part 2) ACTIVATION Continued from chapter one: AssemblyThe two units preceded with the cart holding their future leader. They both entered a room that had other units that were yet to be activated lining the shelves in special containers that would charge them so once taken out they could be turned on. The rooms purpose was to hold the unactivated robots until it was time for them to be put to use. It was was a way of keeping the population of the island balanced so it would not be over or under crowded. Each unit was given a certain day it was to be turned on at. The days were calculated by R.O.Bs over in the technical part. The only way a R.O.B would not be activated on the day it was scheduled to be activated on was if a malfunction was discovered or in times of emergency. For the R.O.Bs, however, a time of emergency never really happened to them. They were too peaceful to ever have a dispute as horrid as that. The two robots keep pushing the cart forward."Does it ever creep you

Can you check it for anything wrong? "A small robot, about 3 feet tall scooted around to the center of the room where he met the other robot asking the question."I do think the left arm is a little uneven with the right arm...well that's what my sensors are picking up." The robot replied."So, how would it be fixed?" The other robot's eyes lit up with concern."Just rotate the arm a little bit, maybe pull it back a tad and it should line up exactly, use your sensors a bit" The other robot said (or beeped) as it was tugging on the arm gently.
